TEAM

We aim to teach life lessons such as respect, determination and perseverance while building strength, flexibility and coordination in a positive fun environment.

In order to give your children the best possible experience, we first need to create a culture in our gym where kids learn to focus on what they can control, how to productively handle mistakes, challenge themselves, and compete with integrity and respect. This safe space will allow for your children to learn life lessons and develop resilience and a growth mindset throughout their gymnastics experience.

Some things you will observe in our gym:

  • Absence of yelling – we will not allow athletes and/or parents to yell at us and in return we will not yell at you and will treat you with respect

  • Using conditioning as a punishment – we want the athletes to enjoy conditioning or at the very least tolerate and understand that it is all part of the process.  We do not want conditioning to have a negative stigma.

  • We will discipline for bad behavior, but not for failing to perform a skill.  If a gymnast is struggling with a skill, form, etc. we will work on drills, conditioning or other new ways to build up to the skill.

  • Hard work – we expect the athletes to give us 100% effort and in return we hold our coaches to the same expectation.  All coaches will have prepared lesson plans for each practice to minimize set up times.

  • Communication – we want to teach our athletes to talk to us if they’re hurt, not feeling well, or have any questions/concerns.   We will lead by example and talk with them, their parents, and other coaches about any questions/concerns that may arise.

  • Challenging our gymnasts – just because we are coaching in a positive manner does not mean we will not motivate and challenge our athletes.  As coaches, we want our gymnast to achieve goals they didn't think possible. But we will absolutely do this in a safe and respectful manner.

  • Accountability - we want our gymnast to tell us their goals and the road map for achieving them.  We will guide them and collaborate with them, but ultimately we want the girls to take responsibility of their gymnastics.

At Warriors we are all a team.  Our team coaches will collaborate to create the best lesson plans and practices for our girls.  It is important to us that we communicate with parents to keep them up to date on their athletes progress.  Together, with our parents, we will work together to determine what is best for your athlete.

You can learn more about our culture and teaching style on the Our Philosophy page.
